Chicks with Checks Features ASCEND Foundation in November

(Charleston, SC) Chicks with Checks, the Charleston-based program that is redefining how community service organizations connect with new supporters and how women power network, is featuring the ASCEND foundation November 8, 2006.

ASCEND’s mission is to make ending cancer a national priority by connecting those touched by cancer into one voice to make a difference.

Conceived in 2005, Chicks with Checks is loosely based on the increasingly popular giving circle concept. However, Chicks with Checks is a conduit for making high-quality contacts and direct philanthropy rather than a charitable entity itself.

Chicks with Checks invites women to monthly wine and appetizer "Parties with a Purpose.” Guests enjoy social and networking opportunities while a selected non-profit, usually a high-impact low profile organization, showcases their mission and outlines their needs for support. “Chicks” contribute the amount they would have spent on an evening out directly to the featured organization and learn how they can help on other ways. “It’s a win for everyone,” claims Newell. Women meet new business contacts while making an impact and having a fun night out, and organizations benefit financially, build their mailing lists, and reach new audiences. “Chicks with Checks helps build significant partnerships between success-oriented women while making a substantial difference in their communities.”

Chicks with Checks franchises are now available nationwide through www.chickswithchecks.us or by calling 843-352-8978. You may obtain additional information about the ASCEND Foundation by calling 843-225-4055 or visiting www.ascendfoundation.org.
