ASCEND is very pleased to have had the continued support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Komen is one of the largest and effective non-profits in the world. Lead by their president, Susan Braun and vice-president, Nancy Byrd, they are committed to cause of breast cancer. Their support of ASCEND’s mission and concepts along with their willingness to help us has been invaluable as we have worked for a year and a half to come this far. We are grateful.

Events and Fundraisers
Recent Results

• In October, the ASCEND Foundation participated in its second Belk Department Store Charity Day. With the help of dedicated volunteers ASCEND raised over $3,500.
• On November 20th, ASCEND had an opportunity to participate in a silent auction held by Prudential Carolina Realty. Thanks to members in the community who donated items and services, ASCEND raised over $4,500!

National Media Campaign
ASCEND’S mission is to end cancer in our lifetimes. We believe that by working together, we can create enough awareness and outrage over the pandemic of cancer in our world to day, which will in turn bring the financial resources and lifestyle changes necessary to end cancer now.

We intend to begin this effort with a national media campaign that confronts the public with the facts and figures surrounding cancer. These ads will be unlike any public awareness campaign that has ever been done and will be extremely powerful. We have four initial ad concepts that have been developed by internationally renowned creative director, Mr. Stewart Birbrower, and will be produced by filmmaker, Mr. Peter Wentworth.
